As the lightest frame we have ever made, the TIME Alpe d’Huez 01 is more than a match when you want to climb its famous namesake. At just over 800 grams, the Alpe d’Huez 01 is the lightest frame ever produced by TIME, but the low weight belies how stiff and responsive it remains without sacrificing comfort.
We can achieve this level of high performance because we have the ability to weave the carbon fibers so precisely that we can dose out the weave exactly to the needs of certain areas of the frame, either for greater rigidity or to emphasize the compliance. When weaving together Vectran with high resistance carbon and high modulus carbon, we can find the perfect combination to offer the ideal ride qualities for a climber’s bike like this. That means that the stiffness to weight ratio has been improved by 25% compared to our previous top models.
Our Racingdrive Geometry has a lower head tube to allow the rider to get into an aggressively aero position. The front end stability is enhanced with the Integrated Quickset which is a system with an independent mounting for the stem to enable adjustments to it without touching the headset.
This Alpe d’Huez 01 is available in a rim brake and disc brake version. It also comes with a normal carbon fork or equipped with the TIME Aktiv Carbon Fork. Specially designed by TIME, the Aktiv Fork has innovative built-in vibration dampers to soak up any road chatter before it reverberates up your hands and arms.
